What Our Ofsted Reports Tell Parents
Choosing childcare is one of the biggest decisions a parent can make. Whether you’re looking for a Breakfast Club, After School Club or Holiday Club, you want to know your child will be safe, happy, included and cared for by people they can trust.
As V.I.M Camps continues to grow across Sussex, several of our settings have now been inspected by Ofsted. Recent inspections have been carried out under Ofsted’s new inspection framework, which places an even greater focus on children’s wellbeing, safeguarding, inclusion, leadership and the quality of children’s experiences.
While not all of our settings have been inspected yet, we were delighted to see the same themes recognised across the reports published so far. More importantly, those themes reflect the values we’ve always believed should be at the heart of every V.I.M Camps setting.

Consistently strong care
Every Ofsted inspection is carried out independently, often by different inspectors and at different venues. Yet across our inspected settings, the same themes continue to emerge. That consistency gives us great confidence that the standards we work hard to achieve every day are being recognised.
❤️ Children Feel Safe, Happy and Valued
Every parent wants to know their child feels happy walking through the door.
Across our inspected settings, Ofsted recognised the warm relationships between staff and children, noting that children settle quickly, enjoy attending and develop a genuine sense of belonging.
What this means for parents
Your child will be welcomed into a caring environment where they are known as an individual, supported to build confidence and encouraged to enjoy every session.
Children feel safe, secure and valued within the setting and show a strong sense of belonging.

Inclusion is at the heart of what we do
Every child deserves to feel included.
Our Ofsted reports recognise the way our teams work closely with families, understand children’s individual needs and adapt activities so every child can participate and thrive.
Children with SEND, those needing additional support and children attending holiday provision were all recognised as receiving thoughtful, personalised care.
What this means for parents
Whether your child is naturally confident, a little quieter, or needs additional support, they’ll be welcomed, encouraged and given every opportunity to enjoy their time with us.

Growing through play
Play isn’t simply how children spend their time at V.I.M Camps, it’s how they grow.
Inspectors observed children showing curiosity, independence, resilience and kindness while enjoying creative activities, outdoor adventures, nature-based play and opportunities to make their own choices.
Our clubs aren’t just somewhere children are looked after, they’re places where they build confidence, friendships and lasting memories.
Children arrive excited to participate in the many activities available to them.

A Strong Culture of Safeguarding
Nothing matters more than children’s safety and wellbeing. Across our inspected settings, Ofsted recognised the strong safeguarding culture, consistent routines and nurturing environments created by our teams.
Children know what to expect, staff know the children well, and families benefit from clear communication and trusted relationships.
What this means for parents
You can feel confident knowing your child is cared for in a safe environment where their wellbeing always comes first.
The safeguarding standards are met… children are made safer and feel safe.

Strong Leadership Creates Consistency
One of the biggest strengths recognised across our inspections is the quality of leadership.
Our leadership team supports staff through regular training, professional development and shared best practice, helping every team deliver the same high-quality experience for children and families.
It’s this shared approach that helps ensure consistency across every V.I.M Camps setting.
One team, one vision
At the moment, only some of our V.I.M Camps settings have been inspected by Ofsted, and that’s simply because inspections take place over time.
However, every V.I.M Camps venue follows the same safeguarding procedures, operational policies, recruitment processes and staff training programme. Our teams are supported by the same experienced leadership group and regularly share ideas, training and best practice across all settings.
While inspection dates naturally vary from venue to venue, our standards do not.
Looking ahead
We’re incredibly proud of the feedback our inspected settings have received, but we’re even prouder of the people behind it.
Every day, our teams work hard to create places where children feel safe, valued and excited to come to club. They build friendships, discover new interests, develop confidence and, most importantly, enjoy being children.
Every child deserves to feel safe, valued and excited to come to club each day. That’s the standard we set for ourselves, regardless of which V.I.M Camps setting they attend.
As more of our settings are inspected, we’ll continue doing what we’ve always done, providing the warm, inclusive and high-quality childcare that families across Sussex have come to know and trust.
