A Season of Change for Our V.I.M Camps Children and Families

There’s something about this time of year that always makes us pause for a moment 🌿

Reception places are being announced, families are finding out which school their little ones will be starting, and at the same time our Year 6 children are getting ready to take that big step towards secondary school. It’s a season of change – new beginnings, big endings, and everything in between.

At V.I.M Camps, we feel really lucky to be part of that journey. Some children join us in Reception and we get to watch them grow all the way through to Year 6 (which still feels a bit magical every time). Others we might only see in the holidays, once or twice a year, but those moments matter just as much. Whether it’s one afternoon or six years, our aim is always the same… to make sure every child feels seen, safe, and able to just be themselves.

And yes… a lot of that involves climbing things, getting messy, building something that may or may not fall over, negotiating over whose turn it is, and laughing very loudly along the way 😄

Because for us, play isn’t just something that fills time around the “important bits.” It is the important bit. It’s where children decompress after a long school day, where they build confidence, friendships, and start to understand who they are.

This time of year reminds us to reflect too. What’s worked well, what we can do better, and how we continue to support not just the children, but their families as well. We’re not just here to run clubs, we’re here to be part of something bigger, supporting children as they grow into confident young people ready for what’s next.

So to all our new Reception families, we can’t wait to meet you.

And to our Year 6 children, we are so proud of you (and not quite ready to let you go just yet).

Spring always brings change… and we think that’s a pretty special thing 🌱
